Spring, summer concerts, movies, plays and more in Springfield, IL

As Illinoisans continue to get vaccines and COVID-19 cases decline, life will segue to a new phase and more normal activities. With summer around the corner, people are eager to enjoy life as they used to know it — or as they want to remember. While some organizations and attractions must still postpone welcoming visitors, a growing number of options for summer activities are out there.

With the bells ringing the end of the school year, bells will also soon be ringing in some welcome change, beginning in historic Washington Park. The Springfield Park District’s Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon, one of the largest and finest of the world’s carillons, will host the world-renowned International Carillon Festival.
