Illinois REALTORS®, housing providers and tenants: Learn how to apply for emergency rental assistance with upcoming IHDA webinars
The new 2021 Illinois Rental Payment Program will begin accepting applications for emergency rental assistance on May 17. Find out what you need to know about the program and how to apply by signing up for a free webinar from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA).
There are free webinars on Tuesday, May 11; Friday, May 14 and IHDA is offering one specifically for Illinois REALTORS® on Wednesday, May 19 at 2 p.m.
The Illinois Rental Payment Program can provide up to $25,000 in emergency rental assistance to eligible Illinois renters who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The one-time grant is paid directly to housing providers to cover up to 15 months of missed rent payments between June 2020 and to prepay payments through August 2021, according to IHDA. Both housing providers and tenants participate in the application process.
